Weapon Classes Explained - AR vs DMR vs SR

Understand every weapon category, their optimal ranges, recoil patterns, and when to use each type.

Assault Rifles (AR)

ARs are the backbone of PUBG. They are effective from 0–200m and can be used in both full-auto (close/mid) and single-fire (mid/long). The M416, AKM, Beryl M762, and SCAR-L are the most common. ARs are the weapon class you should master first.

Designated Marksman Rifles (DMR)

DMRs bridge the gap between ARs and sniper rifles. They fire semi-automatically with higher damage per shot than ARs. The Mini14, SKS, SLR, and QBU are common DMRs. Best used at 100–400m with a 4x or 6x scope. Pair a DMR with an AR or SMG for close range.

Sniper Rifles (SR)

Bolt-action snipers (Kar98k, M24, AWM) deal massive damage per shot but have a slow fire rate. A headshot on a level 2 helmet with a Kar98k is an instant knock. SRs are high-skill weapons that reward precise aim but punish misses heavily.
