About PUBG Bots
When were bots added?
PUBG added AI bots in Update 7.2 (May 2020) to fill lobbies and provide a smoother experience for new players.
How do bots behave?
Bots walk in straight lines, have delayed aim, rarely use vehicles, don’t loot aggressively, and don’t build or take cover tactically. They also can’t use throwables effectively.
Do bots count for stats?
Yes, bot kills count toward your overall stats but are tracked separately in detailed statistics. Ranked mode has zero bots.
How many bots per match?
It varies by your skill level, region, and time of day. New accounts can see 70-90% bots. Experienced players typically see 10-30% in normal modes.
Can you disable bots?
You can’t disable bots in normal mode. Playing Ranked mode is the only way to guarantee human-only lobbies. Custom matches also have no bots.
Bot naming patterns
PUBG generates bot names by combining common English first names with common last names (e.g., “JohnSmith”, “SarahJohnson”). They never contain numbers or special characters.
